TEFL Certificate for Non-Native SpeakersThe TEFL Certificate Program is a 2-week program at ELC Boston, designed for the non-native teacher of English. Students are provided 35 lessons each week, including EFL theory and methodology, classroom observation, and general English instruction.

The Teacher Training Program is scheduled twice per year (January and July), but students can arrange to take the course at any time on an individual basis with the payment of a 25% surcharge. Groups of three to five can take the course at any time without a surcharge. A typical schedule for the course is as follows:

General English

This section concentrates on areas of difficulty for very advanced non-native speakers of English. It includes some grammar, vocabulary and idioms, conversation and listening.

Classroom Observation

Participants will have the opportunity to observe different skill areas and different levels being taught and, in most cases, to meet after the observation with the teacher of the class. The participants will observe a variety of teaching styles and techniques.
